  • Superhero Day

    Sat 30 Nov 2019
Today it has been lovely to focus on Building our Learning Powers and reflect with our children of our superhero characters which remind us of these. The children looked fabulous dressing as their own choice of superhero and the discussions we had about our learning powers were fantastic.
  • PTFA Christmas Fayre

    Sat 30 Nov 2019

Thank you most sincerely to our PTFA team who organised our Christmas Fayre this week. Thank you also to everybody who attended and enjoyed the Fayre; spent hours taking time from work to setup the stalls, grotto, games, the wine and water table; the performances from our super talented Valley Children; the mini-PTFA army who have been sourcing and collecting raffle prizes, organising the tombola, advertising the raffle/fayre, making Christmas decorations and themed items. Thank you to everyone who donated bottles for wine and water and organised these and finally, thank you to Father Christmas for taking time out of his busy calendar to visit Valley this week. It was a truly wonderful Christmas Fayre! Thank you for all your generosity.

  • Reading for Pleasure

    Sun 24 Nov 2019

It was wonderful to see so many infant children at the drop in session at Hobs Moat Library. We hope you enjoy reading your new books. The librarians have asked us to remind you that children’s books are now subject to fines for late returns. To avoid this, please return books by the given date. Alternatively, books can be renewed at the library, online or by telephone. We look forward to seeing our junior children at their drop in session on December 7th from 10-12. All children will need to be accompanied by a parent and if they wish to join the library parents will need to bring ID that includes their address.

  • Cheerleading Festival

    Mon 18 Nov 2019

Valley proudly took part in a local cheerleading festival enjoying sharing our routine with the judges. The children received lots of praise on both their conduct and their skills. Thank you to all our Key Stage Two children who took part.

Thank you to Pertemps for donating Football kits for our school. The children were really proud to wear them and looked fabulous in them. We will be the smartest football team at all our matches from now on!
  • Children In Need

    Sat 16 Nov 2019
Thank you to everybody who came in their pyjamas in order to raise money for Children in Need. Thank you also to our School Council for organising this and also the Pudsey Bear Craft competition which all the children enjoyed. Congratulations to our winners.
  • Anti Bullying Week

    Sat 16 Nov 2019
We did lots of activities as part of Anti Bullying week to help us to understand what bullying is and how we can help to prevent it from happening. Valley Primary is an Anti Bullying school, we always say no to bullying of any description. We wore odd socks to show that everybody was different and celebrate this, noting that differences were never a reason to be unkind or bully anybody.
  • Remembrance

    Mon 11 Nov 2019

At 11am on the 11th Day of the 11th Month, we remember all those who fought for our country. Our children stood in silence following the last post which Mr Hilditch kindly played for us. It was a very moving moment seeing our children so reflective.

  • GXXTRA Workshop

    Fri 08 Nov 2019

We went to Shirley Heath Junior school to take part in a writing workshop learning about mystery and suspense. We watched a short video and then wrote our own mystery stories. We learnt the three skills to create suspense; cliffhangers; ellipsis and; varying the length of sentences. The most important thing is 'Show don't tell!'

Niamh has written a lovely brief recount of the visit...
