Dear Parents/Carers
Children Cycling to and from School
I am aware of children cycling to and from school and am extremely concerned by the number who choose not to wear a cycling helmet.
Although there is no legal requirement to wear a helmet, together with the Local Authority Bikeability Team, we would strongly advise that for your child’s safety they do wear one. Statistics show that a ‘fall off’ a bicycle can have serious outcomes.
We have spoken to the children about cycling to school and would ask that parents speak to their child regarding the safety aspects. As a school your child’s safety is paramount to us.
