Staff
In year 3 the teachers are Miss Propert, Mr Wood and Mrs Ali. The year 3 staff believe in making education fun, enjoyable and challenging.
Swimming
3P and 3W currently swim on Thursday afternoon.
Swimming is rotated throughout the year so that each class goes for an equal amount of time.
Every child needs a swimming bag, a towel, a swimsuit for girls and swimming trunks/ shorts that are above the knee for boys. Any child with long hair needs to wear a swimming cap.
Please ensure that all clothes/belongings are named and that children can independently tie shoelaces.
PE
Outdoor PE is on a Wednesday afternoon. 3A have an indoor PE session on a Friday afternoon.

Homework
Children are given homework every Thursday. This will be a piece of English and a piece of Maths. Homework is due in the following Monday. If there are any issues we ask an adult to inform us please.
Reading
Reading books are changed at least once a week. We ask that an adult signs the child’s planner to indicate that they have read at home. Comprehension tasks are sent out in a yellow book kept with a child’s reading book in their book bag.
Spellings
New spellings are given out on Friday during English lessons. They are then tested through a piece of dictation on the following Friday. Every child has a red spelling log book which should be brought to and from school every day.
Learning environment
We have tried hard to develop our learning environments and our curriculum to ensure a smooth transition from KS1 to KS2.
