On Tuesday, Year 1 started their new topic ‘Fire Fire’ and found out all about The Great Fire of London in 1666. They watched educational videos which discussed what happened and where the fire started. Thereafter, the children worked collaboratively to create their own Tudor style houses, using scissors safely and correctly. Finally, they put all of their houses together to create their own ‘mini London town’. Outdoors and with a trained adult helper, we lit one of the houses and observed how quickly the fire spread. The children thoroughly enjoyed this day and look forward to learning more about their new topic.
