Our "Moon Zoom" learning journey has taken Year 1 all the way into outer space this week! The children have been immersed in history, learning about the Space Race between America and Russia. We focused closely on the Apollo 11 mission, studying the crucial roles played by Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins. Applying their fantastic history and chronological skills, the children successfully ordered picture cards to detail the timeline of the moon landing, accurately tracking the journey from orbiting the moon, landing, walking on the surface, collecting rock/soil samples, and travelling down back on Earth!
