We enjoyed an inspiring Engage Day exploring Urban Influences, with a special focus on street art and its powerful, multilayered meanings. We investigated how artists use public spaces, symbols, and imagery to communicate messages about society, culture, and identity, taking inspiration from the thought-provoking works of Banksy.
Following our exploration,we put our learning into practice by creating our own Banksy-inspired artworks. We experimented with a wide range of pencil techniques, including shading, line variation, and texture, to develop impactful images with hidden messages. The day was a wonderful blend of critical thinking, creativity, and artistic skill, resulting in thoughtful and expressive artwork that reflected both urban culture and our own ideas.
