This week, Year 6 have continued exploring our fascinating topic ‘Kingdom on the Nile’ by diving into some exciting geography lessons about rivers. 

We kicked things off by studying the water cycle. Using zip lock bags, we created our very own mini water cycles in the classroom! Each bag was carefully labelled with the key stages—evaporation, condensation, precipitation, and collection—and then attached to the windows. Over time, we observed the water evaporating and condensing, bringing the cycle to life before our eyes. 

Alongside this, we’ve also been investigating local rivers. Pupils located and labelled them on maps and worked on identifying and drawing key river features such as meanders, tributaries, and estuaries. It’s been a brilliant way to link our learning about Ancient Egypt with the geography of our own environment.
